RULES
- We will be meeting the second Thursday of every month at 7pm. Meeting place and meal assignments for the following month will be made at each swap.
- There are no allergies for this group, but big "No No's" are: anything too spicy, no seafood, no peppers or canned cheese (for the small group), and use red meat sparingly.
- Meals need to be completely frozen through before you swap.
- Bags need to be labeled with the title of the dish, the chef (in case there are last minute questions), the date cooked, and cooking/prep instructions.
- Recipes should be posted on this blog before the scheduled swap.
- You are responsible for preparing a homemade main dish. All items for the main dish must be included (i.e. pasta, rice, buns, etc.).
- Portion sizes are 3 for the small group and...not sure for the large group.
- Don't experiment on the group. Only swap meals you have tried frozen.
- Sanitize your area before cooking and keep food safety in mind throughout preparation.
- Be on time for swaps.
- Include ideas for sides that you usually use to accompany your main dish.
- Be honest and tactful when giving feedback about meals.
As a general rule, if cooking meal completely frozen bump up your heat by 50 degrees and double the time to cook.
FREEZING TIPS
- Don't stack bags when they're hot.
- Potatoes and sour cream don't freeze well.
Did I forget anything?
